Before you begin the floor covering, please read the
installation instructions carefully and follow these guidelines.
Damage caused by non-compliance with these flooring recommendations is not covered by the warranty.
1- Floor surface should be smooth, dry, clean, crack-free and nonporous.
2- Floor should not contain any residue of paint, wax, polish, oil, solvent, putty, adhesive or heavy foreign bodies and inclusion.
3- There should be no elevation difference of transition points between floor surface and other surfaces. Potential elevation differences among floors can be calculated with a surface gage
4- Temperature and humidity of an application place should be checked whether variable or within standard limits.
5- Heat should be checked if floor has an underfloor heating system. The heat of floor should be appropriate for LVT application temperature, and there should also be a heating system report which shows that flooring is applicable.
6- If floor is elevated or on steel construction floors, underfloor should be checked whether it is subject to air circulation..
7- It should be ensured that warps on the surface do not excess 2 mm (when measured with a steel ruler).
8- At least 18°C ambient temperature, 15°C surface temperature and less than 70% relative humidity are required for a fault-free LVT flooring. In any case, please measure the humidity rate of floor before continuing application. If you are not sure, please consult with an expert.
9- Least 18°C is required not only for ambient temperature but also for the temperatures of undercoating and adhesives.
10- All floors except for castable asphalt have a maximum rate of acceptable humidity (also known as structural humidity rate). Among reliable tools, CM unit can be availed of in order to determine the humidity rate. Measured values should be transmitted to the customer in written.
11- For the floors with underfloor heating system, no hole should be drilled in order to measure the humidity rate. (For example; CM unit). Holes may cause damage to heating system. The places with underfloor heating system generally have a startup instruction or heating protocol. The measurement of humidity rate can be performed easily by observing such.
12- The checking of surface quality is under the responsibility of the mounter. If surface quality is not applicable for flooring, mounting should not commence before rendering the surface applicable.
13- The flooring surface should be resistant against pressure and tension for Dry - Back products. Please check the hardness of the surface for Dry- Back application. Please incise vertical and horizontal lines with 1 cm intervals for a 100 cm2 area. If there is no break within the lined 100 cm2 area, the hardness can be deemed to suffice.
2- The temperature of the underfloor heating system should be between 18°C and 22°C while flooring on under-heated surface. During the months when heating system is running, the heating system must run between 18°C and 22°C for 72 hours at least before and after and during flooring. Rapid and distinct temperature changes may cause divergence and rising on joints.
3- After the completion of flooring and waiting periods, the maximum temperature should not exceed 27°C during use.
2- While the optimal room temperature is approximately 18°C the air humidity should not exceed 70%. Thus, LVTs will accord with the room temperature and ambient conditions. If these conditions are not present, various issues may occur during mounting. If the temperature is too low and/or the humidity rate is too high, the mounting of flooring will be more demanding and the adhesives will have less adhesion power.
3- Attention should be paid to have LVTs on a horizontal and smooth surface during acclimation to the atmosphere. This decreases the risk of deformations.
4- If LVTs are not acclimated sufficiently or applied with incorrect adhesives, the products may have intervals among each other.
2- Place footing without sharp edges under furniture and chair legs. The office chairs should have W type wheels complying with EN 12529 standards in order to be used on flexible floorings. The wheels should be light color and soft roll wheels with the specified dimensions.
3- You should wipe the floor with a wet mop in order to maintain the pleasant look of the floor (at least once in every week). Cleaning intervals vary according to the frequency of use and current pollution.
4- Do not use corrosive cleaning agents. These may cue damage to flooring. If you desire to request through your authorized dealer, they may send you a recommendation list for cleaning agents.
5- Pets with sharp nails may cause scratching on flooring.
6- Sharp and / or metal high heels may cause damage to flooring. Please pay attention to this matter.
7- Please protect flooring from being exposed to direct sunlight for extended period of time. You can minimize direct sunlight exposure by using a curtain or sun shade when sunlight is at its highest effect. Majority of the floorings are prone to color changes if subject to direct sunlight. Apart from these, high temperatures also negatively affect the quality of LVTs.
2- Liquid stains can be cleaned easily with a cleaning agent appropriate for floorings.
3- A recommended cleaning agent appropriate for flexible flooring materials should be added to cleaning agent or cleaning water while removing sticking dirts. Cleaning intervals should be adjusted according to pollution level.
4- After LVTs are applied, the dirts due to flooring must be cleaned. If deep scratches may occur during flooring, the parts in question may require replacement.
